I took <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">so long<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to choose flavors (anyone would, there\u2019s more than 30 to choose from), and at the end, I wanted to try everyone else\u2019s flavors. (Honestly, I am still like this. Gelataria Sincelo is a 4 minutes walking distance.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mod\u00ec Gelateria Italiana<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignnone size-full wp-image-15025\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/modi-ice-cream-porto.jpg\" alt=\"modi ice cream porto\" class=\"wp-image-15025\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There\u2019s no better place to eat ice cream in Porto on a sunny day than near <a href=\"http:\/\/portoalities.com\/the-best-beaches-in-porto-and-swimming-pools\/\">the beach of Matosinhos<\/a>. Luckily for us, Mod\u00ec is there to save the day.<\/span><br><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They have one of the best selections of ice creams in Porto &#8211; you have to taste the pistachio ice cream for a start. They have flavors such as avocado lime, a\u00e7ai banana, chocolate yogurt, and a dairy-free Ecuadorian dark chocolate which became one of my favorite flavors in town.<\/span><br><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mod\u00ec also serves tiramisu (my favourite dessert in the world!), crepes, coffee, frozen yogurts and smoothies. <\/span><br><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And good news for people with allergies, all their cones and fruit ice creams are dairy-free. They also have multiple gluten-free options.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignnone size-full wp-image-15026\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/modi-porto-interior.jpg\" alt=\"modi porto interior\" class=\"wp-image-15026\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Their indoor area is not as appealing as sitting on the chairs outside. It\u2019s the kind of place where you walk in for a scoop and end up with a whole tray of goodies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But the real star here is the pistachio affogato \u2014 smooth pistachio ice cream drowned in a shot of hot espresso. Rich, bold, and unforgettable, it\u2019s the sort of thing you come back for again and again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Neveiros may not be the most polished spot in town (the upstairs is a little rough around the edges), but that\u2019s part of its charm. It\u2019s cozy, authentic, and always delivers a sweet Porto hug in the form of gelato and much more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How to get there: take the subway to <em>Bolh\u00e3o<\/em> station, Neveiros is a 5 minutes walking distance.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">NIV\u00c0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"668\" height=\"549\" src=\"http:\/\/portoalities.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/ice-cream-flavours-niva-porto.png\" alt=\"ice cream flavours niva porto\" class=\"wp-image-138674\" srcset=\"https:\/\/portoalities.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/ice-cream-flavours-niva-porto.png 668w, https:\/\/portoalities.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/ice-cream-flavours-niva-porto-300x247.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 668px) 100vw, 668px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>NIV\u00c0 landed in Porto in 2022, but its roots go way back \u2014 all the way to Italy in the 80s, when it was started by an Italian couple with a passion for proper gelato. And it shows. Their ice creams are rich, smooth, and full of flavour, with classics like dark chocolate ganache, stracciatella, yoghurt and cherry, ricotta with fig, and a super refreshing passion fruit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s not just gelato either \u2014 they also do Italian treats like cannolo, granita, and even zabaione. Basically, it\u2019s a full-on Italian dessert stop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019ll find NIV\u00c0 in a few spots around Porto and Matosinhos \u2014 including inside the <a href=\"https:\/\/portoalities.com\/en\/best-markets-in-porto\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Time Out Market and near the Bolh\u00e3o market<\/a>. Whichever one you go to, the quality is consistent, and the ice cream is always worth it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">La Copa<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignnone size-full wp-image-15024\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/la-copa-ice-cream-flavors.jpg\" alt=\"la copa ice cream flavors\" class=\"wp-image-15024\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">\u00a9 La Copa<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Next to <a href=\"http:\/\/portoalities.com\/best-parks-and-gardens-in-porto\/\">S\u00e3o L\u00e1zaro garden<\/a> and not too far from Rua de Santa Catarina, you\u2019ll find La Copa which is guaranteed to make your day when exploring Porto.<\/span><br><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They are famous for their creative sundaes which are beautifully served in a tall glass, but you can also get scoops of ice cream in a cup or a cone. Their flavors include chocolate, hazelnut, vanilla, Ferrero Rocher and the mouth-watering salted caramel. They also have numerous dairy-free fruity flavors that taste very natural like orange, lime, pineapple and strawberry.<\/span><br><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the weekends, they serve the vegan chocolate flavor which is not my favorite because it tastes a bit like cocoa powder, but it\u2019s a good dairy-free option nonetheless. They also have many gluten-free flavors.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignnone size-full wp-image-15023\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/la-copa-backyard.jpg\" alt=\"la copa backyard\" class=\"wp-image-15023\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I love to get my order and sit in their beautiful backyard enjoying the greenery and the sound of the water fountain &#8211; it\u2019s even more stunning at night!<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How to get there: take the subway to Santa Catarina station. La Copa is a 6 minutes walking distance.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Amorino<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15015\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/amorino-vegan-ice-cream-porto.jpg\" alt=\"amorino vegan ice cream porto\" width=\"668\" height=\"445\"><br><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Even on rainy days or chilly nights, I can count on Amorino ice creams for some moments of absolute bliss. <\/span><br><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What I love about Amorino is the fact that I can order a cone which they make into a flower and I get to put unlimited ice cream flavors! My personal favorite is the tiramisu, but I also love the stracciatella one. They offer salted caramel, chocolate, mango, coffee and more.<\/span><br><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re hungry for more, you can order waffles, crepes, sorbet drinks, smoothies, macaroons, croissants, tarts, cakes,\u2026 and the list goes on.<\/span><br><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Amorino excels in serving the best selection of <a href=\"http:\/\/portoalities.com\/survival-guide-vegetarians-porto\/\">vegan<\/a> ice creams in Porto and even the cones are vegan. You can\u2019t go wrong with the classic chocolate which has a hint of coffee and it goes really well with the hazelnut or the almond flavor. But you can also go for more fruity flavors like strawberry or mango.<\/span><br><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Besides their vegan selection, Amorino has gluten-free options. They also claim to have no artificial flavors in their ice creams.<\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15014\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/amorino-interior-gluten-free-ice-cream-porto.jpg\" alt=\"amorino interior gluten free ice cream porto\" width=\"668\" height=\"445\"><br><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Customer service is superb and it\u2019s what makes me want to come back to Amorino again and again. I also love their beautifully-decorated interior seating area.
