This historic Caf\u00e9 which opened in 1933 was frequented by businessmen and liberal professionals at the time thanks to its privileged location at the Avenida dos Aliados, the most important avenue in the city. They have more than 130 beer varieties with Portuguese beers like Sovina, Burguesa, Letra, Passarola and Mirandum. <\/span><br><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the vicinity, you\u2019ll find the Carlos Alberto Square (named after <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/portoalities.com\/a-beautiful-love-story-in-porto\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">an Italian king who was exiled to Porto<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) with a beautiful monument dedicated to the Portuguese troops killed in WWI. You\u2019ll also be close to Avenida dos Aliados and the Lion Fountain in front of the Rectory of the University of Porto &#8211; a perfect scene for a panoramic photo.<\/span><br><em>How to get there: the subway station Lapa is a 5 minutes walking distance.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Visit the Crystal Palace gardens<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rua de Dom Manuel II | Porto<\/span><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignnone size-full wp-image-15692\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/crystal-palace-garden-autumn-porto.jpg\" alt=\"crystal palace garden autumn porto\" class=\"wp-image-15692\"\/><figcaption>\u00a9 Lonely Planet<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you love nature, but you\u2019re only in Porto for a few hours, you can visit one of <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/portoalities.com\/best-parks-and-gardens-in-porto\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the best gardens in Porto<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Our recommendation is the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/portoalities.com\/crystal-palace-gardens-in-porto\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Crystal Palace gardens,<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which might be a bit of a walk, but it\u2019s worth it. Inside, you\u2019ll see a great view of the river. There is also water streams, fountains and beautiful greenery.<\/span><br><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You won\u2019t be too far from the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/portoalities.com\/discover-lello-bookstore-porto\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lello Library<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (13 minutes walking distance), Cl\u00e9rigos Tower, the twin churches (Carmo and Carmelitas), S\u00e3o Bento station and more.<\/span><br><em>How to get there: the subway station Casa da M\u00fasica is a 20 minutes walking distance. There are also many buses that stop right in front of these gardens, such as 507 and 601.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Walk on the riverside<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cais da Estiva | Cais de Gaia<\/span><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignnone size-full wp-image-15142\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/ribeira-sqaure-river-douro.jpg\" alt=\"ribeira sqaure river douro\" class=\"wp-image-15142\"\/><figcaption>\u00a9 Pedro Paulo Palazzo<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re only in Porto for a few hours, you may not have time for a <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/portoalities.com\/all-about-6-bridges-cruise-porto\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">boat cruise<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or a <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/portoalities.com\/best-port-wine-lodges-porto\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">wine cellar<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> visit, but you must see the Ribeira area and the Gaia\u2019s pier!
