I prepared this guide about what to do in Campanh\u00e3, a non touristic neighbourhood in Porto, especially for adventurous travellers. Enjoy it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The only way to avoid tourists in Porto is to leave the city centre.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore, I wrote this article about Campanh\u00e3, an oriental neighbourhood in Porto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What to do in&nbsp;Campanh\u00e3<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Quinta de Bonj\u00f3ia<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rua de Bonj\u00f3ia, 185 | Porto<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"668\" height=\"441\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-26330\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/quinta-bonjoia-porto.jpg\" alt=\"quinta bonjoia porto\"><br>The property of Quinta de Boinj\u00f3ia dates from centuries ago, even though the palace itself was only built in 1759.<br>Its layout is attributed to Nicolau Nasoni, the famous Italian architect responsible for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.getyourguide.com\/porto-l151\/porto-billet-d-entree-a-la-tour-des-clercs-t57114\/?partner_id=H93B56T&amp;cmp=campanha-en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow\">Cl\u00e9rigos Tower<\/a>, but\u00a0there are no certainties about it. In front of the palace you&#8217;ll find beautiful gardens, perfect for a walk.<br><em>How to get there: Take the subway to the station Campanh\u00e3. From there, Quinta de Bonj\u00f3ia is a 7 minutes walking distance.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Quinta Villar d&#8217;Allen<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rua do Freixo, 194 | Porto<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"668\" height=\"445\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-26329\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/quinta-villar-allen-porto.jpg\" alt=\"quinta villar allen porto\"><br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tripadvisor.pt\/Attraction_Review-g189180-d4422222-Reviews-Quinta_De_Villar_d_Allen-Porto_Porto_District_Northern_Portugal.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Quinta Villar d&#8217;Allen<\/a> is one of the rare examples of typical eighteenth and nineteenth centuries recreational estates in Porto. The property, owned by one of Porto&#8217;s oldest families, has&nbsp;lakes, exotic plants and the city&#8217;s largest private collection of camellias.<br>Don&#8217;t miss the opportunity to visit Quinta Villar d&#8217;Allen (it&#8217;s necessary to make an appointment), and to discover <a href=\"http:\/\/portoalities.com\/why-is-camellia-the-flower-of-porto\/\">why Porto is the city of camellias<\/a>! It&#8217;s the perfect way to avoid tourists in downtown Porto \ud83d\ude09<br><em>How to get there: The most practical way to get to Quinta Villar d&#8217;Allen is to get a Taxi\/Uber\/Cabify.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.getyourguide.com\/activity\/porto-l151\/tour-fc-porto-museum-stadium-t99348\/?partner_id=H93B56T&amp;cmp=campanha-en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow\">FC Porto Museum and\u00a0Drag\u00e3o Stadium<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Via Futebol Clube do Porto<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"668\" height=\"417\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-26324\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/fc-porto-museum.jpg\" alt=\"fc porto museum\"><br>I must confess I don&#8217;t like football, nor sports in general. Not even 5 years working part time job at Drag\u00e3o stadium changed my profound indifference towards the sport that moves millions of people around the world!<br>Nonetheless,\u00a0I recognise that the FC Porto Museum was an excellent bet, which brings a lot of people to Campanh\u00e3. It is possible to visit the FC Porto Museum and Drag\u00e3o Stadium separately, but it&#8217;s best to take a tour that combines both visits.<br>As it is a very popular activity in Porto, I recommend you to buy the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.getyourguide.com\/activity\/porto-l151\/tour-fc-porto-museum-stadium-t99348\/?partner_id=H93B56T&amp;cmp=campanha-en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow\">online ticket for the FC Porto Stadium &amp; Museum<\/a>.<br><em>How to get there: Take the subway to the station Est\u00e1dio do Drag\u00e3o.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Press Museum<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Estrada Nacional 108, 206 | Porto<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"668\" height=\"467\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-26322\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/press-museum-porto.jpg\" alt=\"press museum porto\"><br>It&#8217;s a tradition of mine to go to the Press Museum every year to see the World Press Cartoon exhibition. In addition, the Press Museum organizes several workshops, such as book binding, modern calligraphy, etc.<br>I advise you to call to make a booking (the contact is under the title). The tickets to the Press Museum are very cheap (2\u20ac \/ adult and 1.5\u20ac \/ student), and it&#8217;s a great way to spend an afternoon and avoid tourists in downtown Porto.<br><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"668\" height=\"441\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-26323\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/marina-freixo.jpg\" alt=\"marina freixo\"><br>Afterwards, you can have a coffee at Marina do Freixo, right next door. It&#8217;s a small harbour with a simple esplanade. The esplanade itself is no big deal, but the view is fantastic! \ud83d\ude09<br><em>How to get there: The most practical way to get to the Press Museum\u00a0is to get a taxi \/ Uber \/ Cabify.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Vandoma&#8217;s flea market<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Avenida 25 de Abril | Every saturday, from 8h to 13h<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"668\" height=\"446\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-26325\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/flea-market-porto.jpg\" alt=\"flea market porto\"><br>Vandoma&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/portoalities.com\/best-markets-in-porto\/\">flea market<\/a> is part of the identity of Porto. Its new location in Campanh\u00e3 doesn&#8217;t appeal to everyone: the lack of parking slots, the distance to the city centre are the most common complaints from sellers and buyers.<br>But I work in tourism every day, and I\u00a0try to get tourists to know more than just\u00a0downtown Porto. And 15 minutes on foot, walking from the subway\u00a0station of Campanh\u00e3, don&#8217;t discourage anyone who&#8217;s looking for real bargains. Trust me, Vandoma&#8217;s flea market is really worth it\u00a0\ud83d\ude42<br><em>How to get there: take the subway to the station Campanh\u00e3. From there, Vandoma&#8217;s flea market is a 15 minutes walking distance.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where to eat in&nbsp;Campanh\u00e3<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Moment&#8217;Um<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rua da Esta\u00e7\u00e3o, 82 | Porto<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-26328\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/momentum-vegetarian-restaurant-porto.jpg\" alt=\"momentum vegetarian restaurant porto\" width=\"668\" height=\"425\"><br>On my morning walks&nbsp;in Campanh\u00e3 I stumbled upon a beautiful space called Moment&#8217;Um. What called my attention were&nbsp;the as notoriously low-fat croissants, and other &nbsp;healthier-versions of Portuguese treats displayed at the entrance.<br>Moment&#8217;Um serves lunch menus for \u20ac6.5 with soup, main dish, drink, coffee or dessert. For main&nbsp;dish, you can pick one of traditional dishes such as roasted loin or duck rice, made in a wood-fired oven, or one of the several vegetarian options. This restaurant is a real hole on the wall in Campanh\u00e3!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where to Stay in&nbsp;Campanh\u00e3<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Even though Campanh\u00e3 is not a &#8220;noble&#8221; area of the city, it has one of the <a href=\"http:\/\/portoalities.com\/best-luxury-hotels-in-porto\/\">best hotels in Porto<\/a> (Pal\u00e1cio do Freixo) and other pleasant choices.
