We had an amazing tour of 2 Douro Valley vineyards with our guide, Tommy who was not only superbly knowledgeable about the area but has also developed real, personal relationships with the people running the wineries! Amazing private tours of the vineyards, totally absent of big tour groups with producers who were truly passionate about their craft. On our way to Porto, Tommy shared his favorite local restaurants and we dined at one of them – the meal was terrific and local (no tourists there!). Book this tour, you won’t regret it!

Not only does he know everything about the wineries, he knows where to go in town for a great meal at local places away from the tourists. My family and I had a wonderful time touring Douro Valley with Tommy, and without any reservations would recommend this tour with Portoalities. He was pleasant, knowledgeable, personable and an overall perfect tour guide. In addition, the quintas we toured were excellent and winemakers informative, and the local restaurant chosen for lunch was great as well (and only frequented by locals, as promised!). Tommy recommended the dish we had at lunch, which was some of the best pork I’ve ever eaten. Sara was very responsive in helping us organize our trip. Well worth the price. Highly recommended.
Sara was a wonderful tour guide for our Douro Valley day trip. We were blown away by our stop at the first winery, and equally impressed with our lunch option. The afternoon winery was also just so scenic and Sara did a great job keeping us on schedule so we did not miss any of the events. She was also very entertaining and knowledgeable across so many different subjects. Sara was kind enough to make us dinner reservations for that evening, and also gave us numerous tips about how to spend the rest of our time in Porto. Everything was just as we expected and more, as she went above and beyond on this tour. We would absolutely contact Sara again for our next trip back to Porto!

Yes, all of our vehicles are equipped with air conditioning, ensuring your comfort during any weather conditions at any time of the year.
We work with local restaurants that are able to accommodate both vegetarian and vegan diets. Even though Douro Valley is a region with a strong tradition of meat-based dishes, our local partners are incredibly kind and accommodating, and they always have a vegetarian / vegan option on the menu. Please inform us of any dietary restrictions you may have when booking the tour, and we will make sure to make the necessary arrangements.
Our private wine tour in Douro Valley includes pick-up and drop-off at your hotel, transportation to and from Douro Valley, wine tastings at to two carefully selected boutique wineries owned by Portuguese families, an expert driver-guide specialized in Portuguese wines, and all taxes and insurances required by the Portuguese law.
Lunch is not included, as we believe it’s best for our guests to choose their own dining options. Additionally, gratuities for the driver-guide are optional but appreciated.
