Avoid tourist traps and discover the local gems in Portugal.
This adventure started with Sara, a proud Industrial Engineer from Porto. When she is not writing on the blog or showing her city around, you will find her studying military history (for real), hiking or endlessly discussing where to have the best francesinha.

Tommy was born to an English father and a Portuguese mother, but don’t let his accent fool you! He’s as “Tripeiro” as they come. He graduated in International Relations, but Music is his true passion… well, that and Porto of course! He enjoys talking at great length about his hometown to other people… and loves to listen to others as well, making him a pretty good companion, especially if you are coming to visit his city!

Joana is an Art Historian and author, who soon realised that working at a desk for a museum or a foundation wasn’t for her. She’s a story teller, after all, and Porto (her passion) is full of stories to tell.

Pedro was born in Porto and graduated in Astronomy. He lived for a couple of years in Ireland – the rain and the heart of the natives always made him feel at home. But from early on he discovered the joy of being around people, and he became a very talented guide. He jumped on board when Portoalities was still a tiny project and his kindness, patience and sense of humour won him a steady place on this adventure.

Our trip to Porto was transformed from routine to an exciting personal experience by our guide Pedro. His knowledge provided us with a true feeling of what Porto has been and into which it has evolved. His passion for the city brought an emotional attachment that was unparalleled among our many previous tours. We highly recommend Portoalities without reservation for anyone who wants to see the true Porto.
Sara walked my wife and I around Porto, giving us an ongoing commentary throughout. Her enthusiasm and attention to detail shone through – she is patient, personable and it would be hard to find a better guide. Thank you Sara for such a great intro to the city!
My family and I had a wonderful time in Douro Valley with Tommy, and without any reservations would recommend this tour with Portoalities. He was funny, knowledgeable, personable and an overall perfect guide. The vineyards we toured were excellent, and we had a wonderful lunch at a quaint little restaurant. The tour was well worth the cost!
