We could not have asked for a better guide than Tommy who was enthusiastic, passionate and very knowledgeable about the beautiful Douro Valley and its wines. On the journey from Porto we had a very in depth explanation of the history of the region and about the wine making processes, which was expanded on at the boutique winery we visited. A delicious Portuguese lunch followed before our river cruise, allowing us to further appreciate the beauty of the valley. A visit to see the beautiful tiles at Pinhão railway station concluded our tour. Tommy was a very attentive host, personable and happy to answer any questions however “off piste”! Highly recommend this tour with Portoalities who were excellent from the start, responding very quickly to emails and offering suggestions.
